Lizabeth Gottsegen has been a licensed, registered and practicing massage therapist

for 32 years. Specializing in lymphedema and Lipedema since 2014 are only two of her passions that brought her closer to the creation of Real Swell. After graduating from the Swedish Institute and becoming a NY licensed massage therapist, Lizabeth began practicing. Immediately becoming interested in the driving force behind pain, she was inspired to complete her BA in Psychology and Philosophy.

Upon finishing her degrees at SUNY Purchase, she joined Cirque Du Soleil and

traveled the world as a massage therapist for three different productions. Having

worked on some of the world’s most amazing bodies, she chose to find ways average

humans might experience freedom from pain and immobility. This led her to aquatic

therapy and she studied Watsu, Waterdance and Fluid Presence. Upon completing

over 800 hours of study, certifying as an aquatic therapist and working with people in special pools that accommodate these modalities, she was curious about the

lymphatic system.

Lizabeth became a lymphatic therapist through ACOLS, studied with Guenter Klose at the Föeldi Institute in Hinterzarten, Germany, then certified a second time in Lymphatic Therapy through Klose training. She’s worked with surgeons in operating rooms and indirect post-operative clinical settings. “Wherever you go, there you are” is her motto and with her presence and compassion there is no situation she can’t rise to meet. 

Alongside her impact and leadership within the Lipedema and Lymphedema communities, she has recently had a wave of the post-covid population suffering from ME/CFS, MCAS, POTS, EDS and many other onset neurological inflammatory and chronic fatigue clients. She is a Perrin Technique Practioner, certified by Dr. Raymond Perrin, who is trailblazing the world of brain lymphatics.
